Here is Little Bean with his/her face looking toward us. You can see the right eye near the top, the belly on the left, and the hand (sort of in a fist) in the middle. This picture kinda freaks us out because it really looks like an alien/skull!
Here is the baby's beautiful profile! (As if it is laying on it's back, looking up at the sky.)
Another profile view, but the baby has it's hand to it's mouth, either with it resting on it's chin or sucking it's thumb!! How adorable!!

Well, today was obviously our 20 week ultrasound! Everything is absolutely perfect with the baby. The heart rate was 136 bpm. In addition to the photos above, we also saw the 4 chambers of the heart, the cerebellum, the stomach, kidneys, the 2 arteries and 1 vein of the umbilical cord, the insertion site of the umbilical cord (future belly button!), and the choroid plexus (which makes the cerebral spinal fluid in the brain). The ultrasound tech saw the bladder, but to prevent us from seeing the sex of the baby we didn't look, but the bladder is working so the kidneys are, too. What an amazing miracle babies are!! A perfect human being in only 20 weeks!
I can't believe that we are already half way through the pregnancy. I have gained 3 pounds total...this will be the LAST mention of any weight gain because I'm sure it will go up dramatically from here!! I'm fitting quite nicely into my new maternity clothes and there is definitely a noticeable bump now. Adam will take some belly pictures this week-end, I'm sure! (No, not of his rock-hard abs, MY belly!)
In case we don't post until after Christmas, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Happy Holidays to everyone! We hope everyone is healthy, happy, safe, and as blessed as we are! Love you!
