Ohio Baby Shower Pics and 38 Week Update

Our dear friends Kate and Brian hosted a baby shower for Adam, Little Bean, and I on April 18th. A HUGE thank you to everyone. We had a great time and really appreciate all the wonderful gifts. Little Bean is very loved and off to a great start!!
Here is one of the group photos.

We played the "Guess Which Candy Is Melted in the Diaper" game...here are Robin and Nikki getting a good whiff!

Nadine was studying this diaper quite intently!!

An adorable outfit...Thanks Robin and Scott!

Jan knitted this incredibly soft blanket for Little Bean. Thanks Jan!

Jan and Bev playing the diaper game.

Here is Jessica opening a sweet diaper surprise!

Us with little Thomas...cutie pie!

A sideways shot of Renee putting down her guesses! (I still don't have the rotate option figured out...)

Another group shot.

Our "growth check" ultrasound to measure the baby was today. Here are the baby's puckered lips and nose... He or she is measuring about 7-7.5 lbs. A good, solid weight. There will be no change in the due date...still 2 weeks away! The heart rate was about 156. I am still just 1 cm dilated, but 50% effaced. (We're getting there!)
A profile shot. The bright white around the head is hair!! The baby was making lots of movement with it's mouth, sticking out it's tongue, sort of like it was drinking.

A closer shot of the baby's nose and lips, with the mouth just slightly open.

So, everything is just fine. We just can't wait to see this little sweetie pie out in the world! I must admit, though, I think I might miss being pregnant. But I know we're going to LOVE being parents!

Updated Baby Room Pics

Here is Brewer posing in front of the baby's crib...we just have a few things to put away!
(Bear with me here, the pictures are a little out of order, and I can't rotate the picture of Adam and Brewer, but I think you get the idea! I'll keep trying to fix them!)

Another shot of Brewer guarding the crib!

Here are Adam and Brewer on Easter. So handsome!

Brewer and I just got up from our nap... I'm going to miss you, precious sleep!

(Back to the baby's room) Here is the Badger mobile for the crib...a must have on our list! Don't worry, the Bucky's are smiling, they don't look scary! It even plays the fight song!

Here is the adorable valance...Thanks Kelly!!

Brewer inspecting the baby clothes... So far no incidents with him getting into anything he shouldn't... but I imagine the cats will be another story!

And our lovely dresser/changing table. It is already stocked with diapers and wipes...now I just need to get around to doing laundry so I can put away the baby clothes!

Updates

I was in Milwaukee for some baby showers, and here is my mom (Grandma), me, and my brother Glenn.

Here is my dad (Grandpa), me, and Glenn.

We went to visit the Gemeinhardt's in Cincinnati a few weeks ago. Here's little Thomas with a placemat on his head...such a cutie!!

Here is Adam with Thomas.

Adam's dad built this cradle for the baby. It is absolutely beautiful. Definitely an heirloom!! We just love it...we can't wait to have a baby to put in it!

Here I am at 33 weeks... feeling big but pretty good.

It has been a busy time for us Scheuer's! Since I last posted, we visited Greg, Shannon, and Thomas in the Cincy area, Adam spent 4 days in northern WI for a "MAN's Weekend" of drinking, eating, etc. with friends, I went to Milwaukee for 2 wonderful baby showers, my parents came to visit/deliver baby shower gifts/help around the house (HUGE help!!), and I finished up school until after the baby arrives. Whew!

Little Bean is doing great! We are at 35 weeks now. He or she remains very active... in fact we thought that my gallbladder may need to be removed because of pain I was having, but it turned out that Little Bean's very strong legs were pushing little feet into my gallbladder/liver area, causing a good deal of pain. Luckily, I'm still able to "encourage" the baby to move by applying some pressure in that area, relieving the pain. At the last OB appointment, the baby was measuring about a week bigger than normal, so we'll be having an ultrasound in mid-April to get a better idea of his or her size. If the baby looks like it's getting too big, I may need to deliver a little early...which sounds better and better with each passing day and restless night! But truly, we just want a healthy baby.

We hope that everyone is doing well! For those of you we saw over the past couple weeks, it was GREAT to see you and catch up. For those of you we missed, we hope that we can see you the next time! I'll try to post more often in the next few weeks... Adam will be in charge for awhile once Little Bean arrives. We'll try to get pictures up right away once he or she is here. Keep checking! Take care!

Baby room, Brewer, and Carley pics

Brewer enjoying the first snow fall!

Carley keeping Adam warm during a nap.

The finished baby's room! With our first piece of baby equipment...a swing!

Adam did a great job adding crown molding, baseboards, wainscotting, etc. It looks incredible! (He did such a good job that now I want crown molding throughout the house...bummer for him! :)

4-D Ultrasound Pictures!!

Such a sweet sleeping Little Bean! Can you tell it's a Scheuer?!

Here's a head-on shot.

Just a reminder that he/she is #1!!

The baby was playing with it's feet and toes during the ultrasound!!

Such an adorable face!! So sweet!

Is it a smile, a laugh, or a yawn?? Or just trying to get those toes in his or her mouth!!

All right guys, I'm tired. Can you let me get some rest now? (I had to wake the baby up with some cold OJ so we could finish the ultrasound!)

Here's baby kicked back and relaxed! The umbilical cord is what you see slung over the baby's right shoulder...a fun toy, I'm sure!

These pictures speak for themselves. It was an amazing experience...I'm so glad that we were able to see our baby's face. No peeking at the sex though...we were strong!! I want to get these up so people can see them ASAP. Will write more later....Love, Jill

February 5, 2007: O.K., so I've updated the photos with captions. We also got a 25 minute DVD set to music of the baby moving...Little Bean's First Movie! I promise, we won't force anyone to watch it!! (our equivalent of the never-ending vacation movies!) I can't believe that we're at 28 weeks already!!! Just 12 weeks to go! Hope everyone's doing well!

Guess Whose Belly!!

Well, here we are at about 25 weeks (already the 3rd trimester!). I bet you can't guess which belly is Adam's! (Just kidding sweetie!) It seems as though virtually over night my belly really popped out. Last Friday was my birthday and it was wonderful!! I was able to talk to lots of friends and family, which was really nice. My dear friend Angi drove all the way from Milwaukee in the pouring rain to spend the week-end here. It was a great time and very sweet of her!! Adam and my parents bought the 3 of us a 4-D ultrasound, which we'll have done on Feb 3rd. It will give us very clear photos of the baby's face, which I can't wait to see!! Also, we get 20 minutes of video footage of Little Bean scooting around in the uterus, which will be cool for us and for the baby when he/she gets older. I just hope the baby is awake and moving for the appointment!

OK. Time for me to brag about why I have the greatest husband EVER!!!

Adam gave me the best gift...he took the day off of work for my birthday as a surprise. He got up at his usual time, got dressed, and even left. A few minutes later I heard his feet coming back up the stairs, and he gave me a lovely bouquet of flowers and announced that he had taken the day off to spend with me!! He preceded to make me a great breakfast, help me clean the house, go with me to my doctor's appointment, and then spend 5 hours registering for baby stuff!! It was a very productive day! When Angi arrived, we went to dinner with her, Kate, and Brian at the Happy Greek...yum! We then learned how to play the game "Settlers of Catan"...a big hit!

The doctor's appointment went well. I found out that I passed the glucose screen with flying colors...no guilt about cake and ice cream that day! We listened to the baby's heart beat (147 bpm). I found out that my hemoglobin is pretty low, so I am now on an iron supplement. Hopefully that will bring it up soon. (That explains why I've been so tired and cold the past several weeks.) The baby is very active and Adam was able to finally feel the baby kick on Sunday. I loved the look on his face when he realized that he had just felt it!

Anywho...time for us to get our beauty sleep. Take care! There will be more pictures on Feb. 3rd, if not before.
